Alliance

Best race:

  • Human is a very strong option for destruction warlocks to help deal with the heavy amounts of crowd control you should expect to receive from opponents attempting to shut down your damage as you’re able to play with Relentless while still having the safety net of Every Man for Himself to break out of stuns when you’re in trouble

  • Dwarf/Dark Iron Dwarf are strong defensive options for Stoneform/Fireblood to removes important debuffs like Forbidden Obsidian Claw

Alternative race:

  • Void Elf can have its benefits with a 5% damage boost when Entropic Embrace procs and a short teleport in the form of Spacial Rift which can be great to kite enemies – however the main benefit is the push-back resistance from Preternatural Calm

Horde

Best race:

ALTERNATIVE TALENTS

Demonic Circle can be considered to help deal with Corrupted Gladiator’s Spite or when facing melee cleaves that you can’t survive against without building distance – it can also be used when playing with a mage to avoid the shared diminishing return with Mortal Coil and Polymorph

Roaring Blaze will give you more overall damage if you aren’t able to get casts off during your Dark Soul: Instability

  • Focused Chaos should always be used
  • Demon Armor should be used against warriors, rogues, windwalkers and ferals
  • Nether Ward should be used against casters
  • Entrenched in Flame is great when playing with classes that don’t have a root
  • Fel Fissure can be taken over Entrenched in Flame in matchups where you can’t get much value out of the root or if you’re playing with a class that has roots themselves, such as mages and windwalkers
