There is a thread over on AJ about it as well, and some people are saying that the gear given to the template characters will be season 9 gear? I have been unable to find any source to confirm this, but that could be pretty cool.

They do have dedicated EU and US servers, right? How could your latency differ greatly from live realm?
Can one found a guild on there? If yes, we should make it a realm overlapping meeting point! Lets have some fun together!
