Why Arms Warrior?

Throughout the Cataclysm expansion, Arms Warrior have been an iconic specialization in PvP, especially due to players like Swifty with his One Shot Macro videos, making Warrior viewed as a powerful aggressor in the competitive PvP scene. We will further analyze why Warrior is promising in Cataclysm, especially for Season 9 PvP.

Season 9 in Cataclysm does not provide a lot of PvE options for PvPers to select from, making a lot of specializations have more Resilience and less Primary stat. This enables Warriors strengths to the maximum potential in Season 9, which is considered as it’s peak compared to any other season in Cataclysm. Warriors are introduced with a few iconic abilities that strengthen their toolkit. This includes Heroic Leap, replacing Intercept, Colossus Smash, and Throwdown, as a stun with knockback effects. Colossus Smash will be your primary burst cooldown as this causes your abilities to bypass all armor. This will assist you in pressuring your opponent during small windows.

For defensive utility, Warriors use Gag Order, Intervene, and Intimidating Shout, allowing them to maintain their support role for their teammates if necessary. Gag Order is a unique talent, as this will allow you to save your allies or yourself in crucial moments against ranged casters.

Due to Warriors providing exceptional damage throughput in Season 9, pairing this specialization with an Affliction Warlock or Frost Mage can amplify their strengths with snare effects or Crowd Control. This specialization will be less prominent as the expansion progresses due to casters receiving their PvE legendary, Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa’s Rest, but will be deadly in current content.
