Frost Mage Stat Priority
Intellect > 6% Hit Rating > Critical Strike > Haste > Mastery
Prioritize Intellect as much as possible, The more Intellect you have, the more Spell Power you will have, buffing all your abilities. After focusing on Intellect, make sure to have at least 6% Hit Rating first before focusing on your secondary stats. This makes sure that none of your abilities miss while attacking your opponent.
For secondary stats, Critical Strike should be your primary focus. Look to obtain at most 15% of this stat, which may deem to be a challenge early in the expansion. Having this percentage will guarantee that our spells with crit with Shatter, as long as Molten Armor and Arcane Intellect is up.
Followed by Critical Strike we have Haste. This stat makes our globals feel more fluid, and by getting at least 12.5% Haste we receive an additional tick on Living Bomb. Lastly, Mastery is our worst secondary stat and is avoided during our gearing process.
In case you aren’t able to reach stat requirements, use reforging on any gear with Mastery and convert to either Haste or Critical Strike. Since we recommend mostly Critical Strike, it is preferred to choose Critical Strike when reforging. If you haven’t reached the recommended Hit Rating percentage yet, you should convert Mastery to Hit first before Critical Strike or Haste.
Thankfully, PvP has two new stats engrained on all PvP gear. These two are PvP Resilience and PvP Power.
PvP Resilence is identical to its predecessor, Resilience, as it reduces incoming damage from enemy players. PvP Power, on the other hand, is a completely new stat that makes our healing and damage stronger to other players. These two will naturally apply as you gearing, meaning you don’t have to worry about min-maxxing these stats.
