Stat Priority
Stat Breakdown
Skill Capped recommends the following stat priority for Unholy Death Knight PvP:
Strength is the most important stat overall, as it has a direct impact on ALL of your damage. Then we will want to reach the 3% Hit cap and the baseline 3% Expertise soft cap.
As far as secondaries go, Mastery is the most consistent, giving us a flat Shadow Damage increase. Crit is also good - you CAN afford to drop a bit of Mastery if playing with another spec that provides a Mastery buff (like Shaman).
Haste is our least desirable stat and we will be reforging out of it.
Best in Slot Gear
Full Tyrannical Gladiator Dreadplate set is best in slot for Season 13. Human players should use the Greatsword (Sword Specialization), while Orc players should use the Decapitator (Axe Specialization).
Weapons
Enchants
Apply these enchants to maximize your Strength and Mastery. Use Rune of the Fallen Crusader on your weapon, or Rune of Swordshattering against teams with Disarm effects.
| Slot | Enchant | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Shoulders | Greater Tiger Fang Inscription | +200 Strength, +100 Critical Strike |
| Back | Enchant Cloak - Superior Critical Strike | +180 Critical Strike |
| Chest | Enchant Chest - Glorious Stats | +80 All Stats |
| Wrists | Enchant Bracer - Exceptional Strength | +180 Strength |
| Hands | Enchant Gloves - Super Strength | +170 Strength |
| Legs | Angerhide Leg Armor | +285 Strength, +165 Critical Strike |
| Feet | Enchant Boots - Pandaren's Step | +140 Mastery, Minor Speed Increase |
| Weapon | Rune of the Fallen Crusader | Default weapon rune |
| Weapon | Rune of Swordshattering | Alternative vs teams with Disarm |
Gems
Get as much Strength as possible while sticking to stat priorities. Use Skillful Vermilion Onyx for Mastery build, or Inscribed Vermilion Onyx for more Crit.
