Undead is the best race overall due to Will of the Forsaken's incredible value against Warlocks and Warriors (both extremely popular). For Alliance, Human is recommended thanks to Perception helping you spot Rogues before they open. Horde has a clear advantage with racials in TBC.
Undead
RecommendedWill of the Forsaken is essentially a free trinket against Fear and Charm effects, plus 5 seconds of immunity. With Warlocks and Warriors being incredibly popular, this provides immense value.
Removes Fear, Sleep, and Charm effects. Also provides immunity to these effects for 5 seconds. Does NOT share a cooldown with PvP trinket.
Shadow Resistance increased by 10. Helpful against other Warlocks.
Regenerate 7% of total health every 2 seconds by consuming a corpse.
Orc
Hardiness gives you a 15% chance to resist stuns, valuable against Rogues. Blood Fury provides extra spell damage, and Command boosts pet damage slightly.
Chance to resist Stun effects increased by an additional 15%. RNG but valuable against Rogues.
Increases spell power by 143 but reduces healing effects by 50% for 25 seconds.
Damage dealt by Hunter and Warlock pets increased by 5%.
Gnome
Escape Artist helps break roots and slows (though it can resist in TBC). Expansive Mind provides a flat 5% intellect bonus for extra mana and spell crit.
Escape roots and slows. Can resist in TBC, making it less reliable.
Intelligence increased by 5%. Extra mana and spell crit.
Arcane Resistance increased by 10.
Human
