Frost Mage
Control-oriented caster built around Shatter combos and kiting. Between Ice Block, Frost Nova, and Water Elemental Freeze, Frost Mage is one of the best and most durable casters in TBC.
Strengths
- ✓Incredible burst damage through Shatter combos on frozen targets
- ✓Excellent crowd control with Polymorph, Frost Nova, and Water Elemental root
- ✓Strong defensive toolkit with Ice Block, Ice Barrier, and Blink
- ✓Cold Snap resets all frost cooldowns for double Ice Block or extended burst
- ✓Improved Counterspell provides a 4 second blanket silence
Weaknesses
- ✗Polymorph does not remove DoTs - requires coordination with teammates
- ✗Invisibility prevents you from seeing enemies - need teammate guidance
- ✗Vulnerable when Ice Block and Blink are on cooldown
- ✗Mana intensive - requires good resource management

Will of the Forsaken breaks Fear, Charm, and Sleep effects and provides 5 seconds of immunity. Shadow Resistance helps against Warlocks. The best Horde race for PvP.
Escape Artist removes roots and slows, which is invaluable for a caster. Expansive Mind provides 5% bonus intellect for mana and crit. The best Alliance race for PvP.
Hit Rating is essential - you need 3% to avoid missing level 70 players. After that, prioritize 40+ Spell Penetration, then Spell Damage and Crit. Do not neglect Resilience, Stamina, and Intellect for survivability and mana.
