★PvP Verdict
Both Human and Undead are excellent choices. Human has the edge in Season 1 due to Perception's value against other Rogues in the opener, but Undead becomes stronger in later seasons when Warlocks are more prevalent. Alliance has the early advantage, but Horde scales better into later seasons.
Undead
RecommendedBecomes the best race in later seasons. Will of the Forsaken is devastating against Warlocks and Priests, and does not share a cooldown with your PvP trinket.
Removes Fear, Sleep, and Charm effects. Also provides immunity to these effects for 5 seconds. Does NOT share a cooldown with PvP trinket.
Regenerate 7% of total health every 2 seconds for 10 seconds by consuming a corpse.
Underwater breath lasts 300% longer.
Orc
A viable alternative to Undead. Hardiness provides stun resistance which is useful against other Rogues, but Undead is simply too strong to not recommend.
Chance to resist Stun effects increased by an additional 15%. Useful in Rogue mirrors.
Increases attack power but reduces healing received.
Damage dealt by Hunter and Warlock pets increased by 5%.
Human
RecommendedThe best race early on. Perception dramatically increases stealth detection, which is invaluable since openers often decide games - especially in Rogue mirrors.
Dramatically increases stealth detection for 20 seconds. Critical for winning openers against other Rogues and Druids.
Spirit increased by 10%.
Skill with Swords and Two-Handed Swords increased by 5.
Skill with Maces and Two-Handed Maces increased by 5.
Gnome
A decent alternative if you really dislike Human. Escape Artist helps maintain uptime on Mages, but pales in comparison to Perception.
Escape the effects of any immobilization or movement speed reduction effect. Useful against Frost Mages.
Intelligence increased by 5%.
Arcane Resistance increased by 10.
