Best Subtlety Rogue PvP Glyphs
The glyph system has changed quite a bit in Mists of Pandaria as opposed to its Cataclysm counterpart. The most noticeable change being the removal of Prime Glyphs, meaning players will be limited to 3 Major and 3 Minor Glyph slots.
Tome of the Clear Mind will be needed to swap out any glyph from its respective glyph slot. You’ll definitely want to hold on to some of those, since some glyphs may be swapped depending on a certain arena matchup.
Major Glyphs
These three major glyphs provided below are your primary glyphs within your major glyph slots. Some glyphs offer variability depending on the composition you plan to play as.
Glyph of Blind is one of two glyphs you don’t want to get rid of, as it removes all dots on the target when used. This is quite helpful with making swaps as we are constantly applying dots like Hemorrhage and Rupture on our primary targets.
Glyph of Hemorrhaging Veins is your second hard-locked glyph, allowing us to benefit from the Sanguinary Vein damage modifier after using Hemorrhage.
Glyph of Cheap Shot is our soft locked talent, and should be removed for any alternative major glyphs. You’ll typically want this into melee cleaves, since your alternative to this will commonly be Glyph of Garrote to control casters for a longer duration.
Additionally we have some situationally niche glyphs you may find useful in certain circumstances. These aren’t typically chosen as opposed to the ones already listed above, but can be super valuable if given the opportunity.
Glyph of Garrote as mentioned above is best into caster cleaves, granting us an additional second on its Garrote silence effect.
Glyph of Cloak of Shadows is a nice grab if you find yourself lacking survivability against melee cleaves, and are the enemy’s primary kill target.
Glyph of Recovery provides Rogues with a healing multiplier tied into Recuperate, and again is best if you are struggling with survivability.
Minor Glyphs
Even though minor glyphs do not greatly enhance the performance for Subtlety Rogue, there are two minor glyphs provided below that can be used in your minor glyph slots to minmax.
Glyph of Distract is best in arenas, allowing you to stop enemy drinks at a farther range.
Glyph of Blurred Speed is best in battlegrounds for mobility purposes.
