Best Frost Mage PvP Races

Alliance

Human

If you plan to choose Alliance as your faction for Frost Mage in Mists of Pandaria PvP, Human is your best option out of both factions. Will to Survive is used as a trinket players can use instead of using the original PvP trinket purchased from the PvP vendors for Season 12.

Substitute Trinket

Will to Survive as a racial ability has identical effects as the current Season 12 PvP trinket, Malevolent Gladiator’s Medallion of Tenacity, which removes your character from any Crowd Control you are in. Having this racial be your substitute PvP trinket offers the opportunity to use multiple PvP damage trinkets, granting you additional throughput during your burst windows to your enemy targets.

Horde

Orc

If you plan to choose Horde as your faction for Frost Mage in Mists of Pandaria PvP, Orc is your best option to choose from. Hardiness and Blood Fury provide strong survivability and throughput when in PvP combat, and is a strong competitor with the human racial.

Hardiness

Hardiness‘s ability grants a player passive 15% stun reduction. Stuns used on you being a shorter duration as well as the use of a PvP trinket allow for players to slip away from danger quicker, and allow for players to be more active during a PvP game.

Blood Fury

Orc is provided with an On-Use racial, Blood Fury, which grants Spell Power to you for a short amount of time. This can be paired with your burst cooldowns to provide additional damage throughput to your enemy targets.

Alternative Frost Mage PvP Races

Alliance

Gnome

If you want an alternative race while playing as a Frost Mage in Mists of Pandaria PvP, Gnome is a solid pick to choose. Due to Mage survivability tied to how well they are able to kite, having this racial enhances their kiting abilities, making them more difficult for players to maintain uptime on.

Expansive Mind

Expansive Mind increases your mana pool by 5%, which can be beneficial due to Mages and other casters being reliant on mana management.

Escape Artist

Gnome provides their iconic racial, Escape Artist, which removes all root and snare effects applied on their character. This will enable you to gain more distance on your enemies.

Horde

Undead

Another alternative race on the Horde side is Undead. Even though there are unique benefits to choosing this race, it is more inconsistent than Will to Survive due to the variance of compositions in arena matches and requires Malevolent Gladiator’s Medallion of Tenacity instead of two on-use PvP trinkets.

Will of The Forsaken Racial

The racial ability, Will of the Forsaken, allows for an additional Crowd Control break against classes such as Priests and Warlocks with Fear. An internal cooldown of 30 seconds is applied on your Malevolent Gladiator’s Medallion of Tenacity, which means using this racial without caution can make you susceptible to swaps.
