Holy Priest Stat Priority
Intellect > Haste (8%) > Spirit > Critical Strike > Mastery
Prioritize Intellect as much as you possibly can. The more Intellect you have, the stronger your spells will be and the more mana you will have. After focusing on Intellect, make sure to have at least 8% Haste first before focusing on other secondary stats. This makes sure that you can guarantee a Dominate Mind cast off Holy Word: Chastise without leaving a gap.
After making sure you have enough Haste, aim for as much Spirit as you can get to feel comfortable. This will provide more mana sustainability as a Holy Priest, and with mana mostly being an issue in the first season of an expansion, aim to acquire around 6000.
Then you will aim to stack Critical Strike followed by Mastery. Mastery is your least important stat and should be avoided while gearing.
Thankfully, PvP has two new stats engrained on all PvP gear. These two are PvP Resilience and PvP Power.
PvP Resilence is identical to its predecessor, Resilience, as it reduces incoming damage from enemy players. PvP Power, on the other hand, is a completely new stat that makes our healing and damage stronger to other players. These two will naturally apply as you gear, meaning you don’t have to worry about min-maxxing these stats.
When reforging, you can convert any Mastery piece for more Haste if you haven’t reached 8%, or Spirit to obtain more mana regeneration. Most of the time you will stick to your current stats without needing to reforge much.
A new expansion offers new possibilities to learn different information that has been added, changed, or removed in the game. Our Skill Capped Guide will provide you with that information at ease through our specialized premium courses. Consult with the best PvP players with years of PvP competitive experience. They will teach you how to be ahead of the composition. Sign up today for a 5% discount and jumpstart your Mists of Pandaria PvP climb with a +400 rating guarantee.
