Best Mistweaver Monk PvP Talents

This new talent system is dramatically different from our original Cataclysm talents. Now players are given way less options in terms of talent selection, and can even change their talents in the starting gate using Tome of the Clear Mind.

Here we have your default talents for Mistweaver Monk. Let’s break down why these talents are so promising in MoP, and any alternatives you can select depending on the composition played or up against.

Hard-Locked Talents:

Tiger’s Lust not only breaks you out of roots but also reacts as a sprint. You’ll be using this spell on yourself to help kite and reposition or on your melee DPS so they can maintain uptime.
Chi Wave is super easy to use, doing decent damage and good healing. The damage you deal from this spell is converted to healing thanks to Eminence, making this one of your hard-locked talents.
Chi Brew gives you some on demand Chi and Mana Tea stacks, which is a huge quality of life improvement to your healing and mana conservation.
Invoke Xuen, the White Tiger might seem like a damage cooldown, but it will actually help heal your team thanks to Eminence. With a 45 second uptime it’s very practical in arena.

Soft-Locked Talents & Alternatives:

Ring of Peace reacts as a Silence and a Disarm, affecting any target in its radius and is typically best in a wide variety of matchups.
Alternative: Leg Sweep as your AoE stun which lasts an astounding 5 seconds. This is a solid pickup if your team is lacking a stun effect, or when Silences or Disarms aren’t effective against the opposing team.

Healing Elixirs acts as both a passive and active self heal, which is going to be super helpful in terms of keeping you alive almost every game.
Alternative: Diffuse Magic against double caster compositions where you are the kill target, or against Affliction Warlocks to remove Unstable Affliction with Revival without suffering much backlash damage while Diffuse Magic is active.
