Best Unholy Death Knight PvP Talents

This new talent system is dramatically different from our original Cataclysm talents. Now players are given way less options in terms of talent selection, and can even change their talents in the starting gate using Tome of the Clear Mind.

Here we have your default talents for Unholy Death Knight. Let’s break down why these talents are so promising in MoP, and any alternatives you can select depending on the composition played or up against.

Hard-Locked Talents:

Lichborne not only will this give us a Fear Breaker and immunity, but it will also allow us to heal ourselves with Death Coil.
Blood Tap is going to smooth out our rotation and give us more consistency with how and when we can Necrotic Strike.
Desecrated Ground is not only a Crowd Control breaker but also gives us Crowd Control immunity. You’ll often use this offensively in order to do un-peelable pressure.

Soft-Locked Talents & Alternatives:

Roiling Blood makes it much easier to spread our DoTs.
Alternative: Plague Leech to prevent breaking CC if we are playing a comp like DK Hunter or DK Mage.

Chilblains is great against slippery targets like Mages, and ideal to pick up when you already have a stun effect on your team.
Alternative: Asphyxiate if your team lacks a stun for the kill target, mainly when playing with a Hunter.

Death Pact gives us an on-demand heal when needed, and is best when we are not the kill target.
Alternative: Conversion is best against dot comps. This will nerf your damage but will provide you with a steady stream of healing.
