What’s New for Mistweaver Monks in The War Within?
Mistweaver Monk in 11.2 hasn’t changed much structurally but now has more impactful defensive cooldowns, specifically from Revival and Sheilun’s Gift, that help us recover a lot easier.
However it’s important to uncover the most impactful changes introduced in The War Within in order to help you understand the current identity of the spec. In our spec talent tree, the biggest change has been the introduction of Jade Empowerment and Rushing Wind Kick. Both are quite strong in practice, providing players the most damage possible while simultaneously healing allies with Ancient Teachings.
Not to mention, we have two new hero talent trees that incorporate more flavor onto our core healing and utility spells. These are Master of Harmony and Conduit of the Celestials, to which Master of Harmony tends to be our preferred pickup. This provides us with an additional charge of Thunder Focus Tea, which synergizes with our Jade Empowerment and Rushing Wind Kick talents and gives us considerably more uptime. Additionally we get even more modifiers on our damaging spells, synergizing wonders with our current hybrid build.
Playstyle for Mistweaver Monks
The playstyle of Mistweaver Monk has definitely changed coming in the new expansion, as the meta revolves around utilizing Rushing Wind Kick and Jade Empowerment for some heavy direct damage while also benefitting from Ancient Teachings to top your teammates.
The current playstyle of Monk focuses more-so on fist-weaving while weaving in some direct single-target healing coming out of Enveloping Mist and Vivify. With talents such as Vivacious Vivification and even Tea of Serenity, we become more less inclined to cast unless we really need to.
