Table of Contents

Preservation Evoker Stat Priority

Versatility > Haste > Mastery > Critical Strike

You want to focus on getting as much Versatility as possible, up to 30%. This will happen almost automatically through PvP gear, since most of your items will have Vers on them.

And then your main focus will be on getting Haste. You should aim for Haste on every piece and this can be done through a mix of conquest gear and crafted pieces using Spark of Dreams.

Recommended Embellishments and Tier Slots

Tier pieces:
Helm: Weyrnkeeper’s Timeless Dracoif
Hands: Weyrnkeeper’s Timeless Clawguards
Shoulders: Weyrnkeeper’s Timeless Sandbrace
Legs: Weyrnkeeper’s Timeless Breeches

Embellishments:
Item 1: Flame-Touched Chainmail with Precognition, Versatility, and Haste
Item 2: Signet of Titanic Insight with Verdant Conduit, Versatility, and Haste

Best Preservation Evoker Trinkets

Gladiator’s Medallion + Insignia of Alacrity

As for trinkets, Medallion is absolutely mandatory. The second slot gives you only a few options. Insignia should be your default pick in most matchups. You could, however, opt to play with Emblem in situations where you could be the kill target since it provides an additional defensive cooldown such as versus frost death knight teams.

Best Preservation Evoker Enchants

Cloak: Homebound Speed
Chest: Reserve of Intellect
Bracers: Devotion of Speed
Legs: Temporal Spellthread
Boots: Plainsrunner’s Breeze
Rings: Devotion of Versatility / Devotion of Haste
Weapon: Sophic Devotion

As you can see, enchants give you quite a few options to fill in the gaps in your itemization. You will prioritize getting Versatility to 30%, and after that, same as with gems, you are free to choose what you need.

The choice of the Chest enchant is fairly flexible. Reserve of Intellect is arguably the safer choice though, since Evoker can have Mana issues in longer matchups. You have a similar choice with Leg enchants as well. There are situational advantages to both, but Temporal Spellthread is likely better overall for most arena games if you don’t want to run into Mana problems.

Best Preservation Evoker Gems

Fierce Illimited Diamond + Energized Ysemerald

We start off by getting the desired 30% Versatility. Since secondary stats will have diminishing returns after 30%, you should then move your focus to Haste.
