Holy Priest Stat Priority

Versatility (25%) > Mastery > Haste > Critical Strike

Our main focus should be on Versatility, which will be obtained naturally by purchasing the current PvP gear. This also is well known as a necessity to PvP, making us stronger defensively and offensively.

Beyond this stat, focus on obtaining a solid amount of Mastery. This turns a percentage of our healing into a healing over time effect called Echo of Light on the target. The more Mastery we have, the stronger our hot becomes, and depending on the amount of Mastery we have, this can end up ranging to be one of your biggest heals in almost every matchup.

After Mastery, we’ll be looking to include some Haste on our gear. Although Haste is a bit lower priority than the other two stats, it is still valuable as it reduces the cooldown of our Prayer of Mending, the global cooldown, our casting speed, and makes our Renew tick faster on our team. If you are very confident in surviving, you can drop Versatility on your crafted pieces in order to pickup more Haste.

And Lastly, Critical Strike does not synergize well with our toolkit, meaning you want to avoid this at all costs.

When it comes to trinkets, equipping Astral Gladiator’s Insignia of Alacrity will be your best option. This is because our Insignia trinket has a relative high proc chance, and when we combine this effect with our core healing spells, our sustain healing becomes a bit stronger.

You will then need an Astral Gladiator’s Medallion to break out of CC every 2 minutes.

An alternative trinket from Astral Gladiator’s Insignia of Alacrity is Astral Gladiator’s Emblem, which should only be picked if you know you are the opponent’s primary kill target and you need another internal cooldown to help recover from the burst. You’ll want to pair this with Desperate Prayer, and is best used after pressing your Emblem trinket. This is because Desperate Prayer scales based on your current health, while providing you with more on-demand healing.

Core Gems: Cognitive Bloodstone + Versatile Onyx
Core Fiber: Pure Energizing Fiber

In The War Within, you will use a Vicious Jeweler’s Setting to add sockets to your Helmet, Neck, Bracers, Belt and Rings. Two sockets can be added to the Neck and Rings.

With Mastery being your best secondary stat, you will want to both gem and enchant it wherever possible. For your new unique PvP-specific gem, we highly recommend the Cognitive Bloodstone, which acts almost identical to the Precognition Embellishment from Dragonflight.

For all gem slots, we will use Versatile Onyx. This will provide us a hefty amount of Mastery, while weaving in some Versatility for some extra tankiness.

As of now, we notice a majority of players currently using the new Reshii Wraps cloak introduced from the 11.2.0 patch. This new piece of gear requires a fiber socket to which we suggest opting for the Pure Energizing Fiber to best suit our stat priority.
