In this section, we will cover the biggest changes to the design of Balance Druid in Dragonflight and some of their playstyle implications. Obviously, the main driving force for all adjustments this expansion comes from talents, and we will dive deeper into them a bit later. For now, let’s focus on the bigger picture.

What’s New for Balance Druid in Dragonflight?

The rotation in Dragonflight is much of the same with one key difference being that now there is a much higher emphasis on Starfall compared to past expansions. While Starsurge is still used, the changes to our damage profile focuses heavily on rot pressure through DoTs and Starfall. There are no major talent changes with Balance Druids retaining most of their utility.

Balance Druid Playstyle in Dragonflight

All together, Balance Druid in Dragonflight will have a similar feel to Shadowlands, but with some improvements sprinkled in. The core design of the spec remains largely the same, making the new expansion easy to pick up for returning players. The spec primarily plays around the iconic ‘root beam’ go with strong burst.

With significant buffs to the damage profile of Balance Druid, things are looking quite good for Balance Druid in Dragonflight. With consistently high DPS, unique CC options and new PvP talents, they seem well-positioned to be strong in 3v3.
