In this section, we will cover the biggest changes to the design of Holy Paladin in Dragonflight and some of their playstyle implications. Obviously, the main driving force for all adjustments this expansion comes from talents, and we will dive deeper into them a bit later. For now, let’s focus on the bigger picture.

What’s New for Holy Paladin in Dragonflight?

Holy Paladin has stayed relatively the same with some welcome additions to the spec. Sacrifice of the Just is a new talent that makes our Blessing of Sacrifice a one-minute cooldown making our CD rotation stronger. Divine Favor has also changed going into Dragonflight as it no longer provides kick immunity.

Lay on Hands has been a core part of the Paladin toolkit but has never been usable in Arena until now. This does put the target on Forbearance but with Holy Paladin being heavily reliant on cooldown rotation, this plays into our strength.

Holy Paladin Playstyle in Dragonflight

The playstyle in general hasn’t changed too much from Shadowlands. It feels quite similar right at the start of Shadowlands when Holy used Divine Toll. Holy Paladin has strong single target healing while having a large number of cooldowns to rotate.

All in all, Holy remains very familiar to those who have played it in the recent past.
