In this section, we will cover the biggest changes to the design of Mistweaver Monk in Dragonflight and some of their playstyle implications. Obviously, the main driving force for all adjustments this expansion comes from talents, and we will dive deeper into them a bit later. For now, let’s focus on the bigger picture.

What’s New for Windwalker Monk in Dragonflight?

Perhaps the biggest change coming in the new expansion is making some previously exclusive defensive talents available at the same time on the class tree. Diffuse Magic, Dampen Harm, Healing Elixir and the recycled double port legendary are now all playable at the same time.

Many of the legendary powers from Shadowlands such as Keefer’s Skyreach and Invoker’s Delight have been made a standard part of the talent tree. Bone Dust Brew and Faeline Stomp have also returned as part of the Windwalker class tree.

Windwalker Monk Playstyle in Dragonflight

Windwalker is still passively squishier than most other melees but with the addition of new defensives available to all monks they are able to rotate these cooldowns in addition to high mobility to survive burst cooldowns and high dps.

Windwalker remains a burst-oriented class but has good consistent damage with the use of Fist of Fury every 20 seconds. If playing Fury of Xuen your Fists of Fury can add some additional burst to force cooldowns off script.
