In this section, we will cover the biggest changes to the design of Feral Druid in Dragonflight and some of their playstyle implications. Obviously, the main driving force for all adjustments this expansion comes from talents, and we will dive deeper into them a bit later. For now, let’s focus on the bigger picture.

What’s New for Feral Druid in Dragonflight?

Overall, Feral continues to be highly versatile in arenas. Having off-heals, peeling tools, excellent kiting and damage, Feral Druids remain powerful.

When it comes to damage, their single-target became a little weaker, but their multi-target became a lot stronger due to Primal Wrath. This applies Rip to all targets within range and should always be used over Rip if can be applied to more than one target.

Having abilities such as Apex Predator’s Craving, Infected Wounds and Dreadful Bleeding, you can see why Feral Druid’s cleave pressure is as strong as it is, having an emphasis on increased bleed damage.

Due to the talent revamp and cleave build becoming more potent, Cyclone will become less of a contender when cleaving regularly. This CC can be an amazing peel and is still great in some situations, but when cleaving and heavily relying on bleeds, it can be a bit counterproductive. This is dependent on the comp as it is easier to get clones when playing with a caster.

It also means that you will have multiple options when it comes to your Feral playstyle. With both affinities gone, you can now gain access to more healing spells in Frenzied Regeneration, Rejuvenation and Swiftmend. Even though you get more healing abilities, in actuality, your overall healing feels a bit weaker compared to Shadowlands.

Feral Druid Playstyle in Dragonflight

Overall, the playstyle of Feral Druid in Dragonflight is very similar to a Necrolord Feral playstyle in Shadowlands. With the added cleave pressure, you will want to spread your bleeds as much as possible in most scenarios to capitalize on it.

Then the hybrid playstyle can kick in with peels and disruption, while maintaining bleeds as well as you can. You can still maintain the solo build and playstyle that will probably utilize Cyclone and focus on offensive setups with CC in order to find kill windows.
